ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

*Duties may include, but not limited to all or some of the following.

 

Cosmetic dermatology practice seeking a highly motivated nurse to assist in outstanding care and concierge services to patients.

We are one of the premier cosmetic dermatology centers in the nation and view patient safety and customer service of the upmost importance.

General

  1. May need to provide concierge services in addition to typical nursing responsibilities.
  2. This position is not for a nurse looking to treat patients independently, but instead to assists board certified dermatologists perform procedures.
  3. Sterilizes surgical instruments using appropriate method, e.g., steam, chemical, ultrasound, etc...
  4. Assist in scheduling patients for lab tests with outside diagnostic centers or hospitals.
  5. Charts in medical record as appropriate
  6. Calls in prescriptions per physician(s) instruction.
  7. Must attend all staff meetings and scheduled in-service programs.
  8. Regularly organize drugs.
  9. Regularly properly dispose of expired drug samples
  10. Orders medical/surgical supplies as necessary to maintain a well-stocked clinical area as instructed by supervisor.
  11. Always maintain a professional appearance

 

Patient Care Duties:

  1. Responsible for assisting the physician (s) in the care of patients to assure optimal medical care.
  2. Prepares patient for physical examination/surgery.
  3. Assists physician(s) in the physical examination/surgery of the patient.
  4. Takes patient histories.  Obtains and documents information relating to drug allergies in prominent place on the label located on the front of the chart and on the patient history form.
  5. Prepares patients for surgical procedures.
  6. Sets up surgical room for appropriate procedure (s).
  7. Assists physician (s) with surgical procedure (s).
  8. Obtains patient consent form/authorization before surgery.
  9. Responsible for patient education.  Hands out educational pamphlets, gives care instructions verbally.  Hands out postoperative instruction sheets and preoperative instruction sheets.
  10. Answers patient questions on telephone and take written notes of conversation.
  11. Gives injections/local anesthesia per physician(s) instruction.
  12. Maintains clean, safe and well stocked examination rooms for patient care at all times.
  13. Keeps necessary logs documentation for patient recalls.
  14. Photographing and recording patient photographs.
  15. Postoperative calls and liaison between physician (s) and patient
  16. Other duties, as deemed necessary.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • A High School Degree or GED.
  • Graduation from RN program/LPN or H
  • Current CPR & BCLS certification
  • Current license or certification
  • Continuing education activity
  • Experience with lasers, however, training will be provided as needed.
  • Outstanding patient communication skills, kind, caring and compassionate.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) knowledge is a plus
